Law schools use a variety of gimmicks to manipulate the USN&WR rankings (apart from outright lying). The most creative relates to how many graduates are employed within 6 months of graduation. I have heard of at least one LS that hires any unemployed graduates to work in the LS library -- which counts as being employed -- and is thereby able to report 100% employment. That's one way the particular law school manages to rank in the first tier.
